A Founder's Letter

From David Kalani, Founder of eKalani

What I'm building almost didn't happen — because the person meant to build it almost didn't survive his own story.

He was a kid in Silicon Valley who didn't look like those around him — not white, not athletic, not fitting the mold of the world he'd been dropped into. His name was different. His face was different. And for a while, different felt like a wound that wouldn't close. So when fifth grade brought an unexpected fresh start at a school where no one knew him, he made a decision that felt like survival: he chose simply to go by David. Common, normal, and safe enough to disappear into.

For years, it worked. And the boy named Kalani disappeared.

What none of us can see when we're hiding is that the things we attempt to bury don't die. They wait.

It wasn't until I was doing the hard work of healing as a young adult that someone put the meaning of my full name in front of me. David Kalani. Beloved royal one of heaven. Two words that had always belonged to me, together forming something I hadn't been given permission to believe about myself.

Something cracked open in that moment.

Not just about my name. About everything. Who I was. Why I was here. What I was made to carry — and what I was never meant to carry alone. The moment I received what my name actually meant, something dormant came alive. A purpose I couldn't yet fully explain began pulling me forward with a clarity I had never felt before. And holding all of it together was the staggering realization that I was always loved — not for what I could produce or perform or become, but simply for who I already was.

That realization didn't just change me. It ruined me for anything less — for any version of life that doesn't begin and end with people knowing, at the deepest level, that they are seen, that they belong, and that they are worth fighting for.

That journey — from shame to identity, from hiding to standing, from surviving to becoming — is the entire basis of everything I have built and everything that will follow.

eKalani came together the way things do when you're finally paying attention.

I was searching for a name that could hold seven brands, a growing movement, and a vision too large for conventional business language. I found myself drawn to the Hawaiian language I grew up near, looking for something that could sit alongside Kalani and carry real meaning. A single letter turned out to be exactly that.

In Hawaiian, e is a call of affection and honor — placed before a name to summon someone back to themselves with the full weight of who they are.

eKalani is the call of a name back to itself. That is what this movement does.

Seven brands. One conviction: that a person who fully knows and receives their true identity steps into a purpose nothing in this world can stop.

Free Indeed Global walks directly into the emotional rubble most people are quietly living in — the wounds that formed in childhood, the belonging that had to be earned, the love that came with conditions attached. It carries the message that the freedom most believers signed up for is bigger than anything they have yet experienced, and that the distance between knowing that and actually living from it is exactly where this ministry does its most important work. Sons and daughters, not servants. The full inheritance, finally received. You're Family.

Silas Coaching finds the people who love the way Silas loved Paul — with a staying, present, unconditional devotion that the personal development industry has almost entirely failed to produce — and certifies them, equips them, and sends them out to walk alongside the people who have almost stopped believing that kind of love exists. For the coach, it is a calling confirmed. For the client, it is the discovery that the person they needed has been out there all along. Love That Stays.

Damascus Events builds the rooms where lives divide into before and after — where the same presence that stopped a man cold on a road outside Damascus shows up in a gathering of people who walked in heading one direction and walk out as someone they always were but had never yet met. These are not conferences. They are the deliberate, faith-fueled architecture of moments that mark people for the rest of their lives. Suddenly Changed.

Epic Mentors reaches the person who needs proof that a different financial reality is possible and points them toward leaders who already walked that road — people defined by ethics, character, and genuine care for the person they're leading. In an industry that has earned its reputation for leaving people worse off than it found them, Epic Mentors is comfortable being the Samaritan in that story — showing up for the skeptic who has every reason to keep walking, proof not just promise that a different outcome is available to anyone willing to follow someone who actually went first. Go and do likewise.

Thousand Hills Group builds wealth on the settled conviction that everything was entrusted to begin with — that the greatest return on any investment is measured not in portfolios but in lives permanently altered, in families who inherit not just assets but a vision for what those assets were always meant to serve. It is also an invitation to the person who has believed that wealth and legacy belong to someone else's story — to believe for it, to ask for it, and to become someone God moves resources through for the good of generations they may never live to meet. Held In Trust.

William Agency carries the long-game endurance of its namesake — Wilberforce, who spent forty-six years delivering a message the world wasn't ready to receive until the day it finally was — into next-generation digital strategy and the most powerful AI tools available. Every client it takes on carries a message with the potential to shift the way people think, live, and treat one another. Success is never measured in impressions. It is measured in paradigms dismantled and lives that will never be the same. Until the World Shifts.

And at the center of it all, David Kalani — author, teacher, speaker — carries into every book and every room a particular kind of vision: the ability to see, with complete clarity, who a person was always meant to be, and to love what he sees with a consistency and a ferocity that makes no logical sense until it changes everything. The message underneath all of it has never changed — that you are deeply and profoundly loved, beyond all reason, beyond anything you have done or failed to do, and that this love is not the reward waiting at the end of the journey but the ground underneath every step of it. If you could see… what I see.

These aren't revenue streams beneath a holding company. They are seven doors into one transformation — meeting people at every place the wound lives, speaking identity into what shame has silenced, and loving them all the way through to the life they were always meant to live.

I've had the honor of walking alongside people through the most defining seasons of their lives for over two decades. The battle is almost never about strategy or opportunity. It's almost always about identity. People don't fail to build great lives because they lack information. They fail because somewhere in a vulnerable moment, a lie got in — and right there, they let fear drown out love and buried their name. All they ever needed was someone to love them loudly enough to call the truth back out.

This movement is my calling it back out. For everyone.

As eKalani grows — across continents, industries, and generations — it will be recognized not by a single product or platform, but by what it leaves behind in every person it touches: the unshakeable knowledge of who they are, the courage to live it without apology, and a love for the people around them so alive it changes the atmosphere of every room they walk into.

A world transformed doesn't begin with systems or movements or even companies. It begins with a person who finally knows their name — receives it, believes it, and decides to answer to it fully.

So this is for you.

Because the One who formed you has never stopped calling your name.

Known by Name. Transformed by Love.

Rise.
